My name is Ja’Zmin A. McKeel. I was born in Atlanta, GA and raised in Decatur, GA.  In 2018, I participated in a summer immersion program for Girls Who Code. This program was my first significant experience in the world of computer science. This program caused me to use my problem-solving skills and creativity in a different way than I was used to. I liked it so much that I decided that I wanted to pursue it in college. At Agnes Scott College, I plan to major in Computer Science. While in residence in the Decatur area, I went to DeKalb Elementary School of the Arts (D.E.S.A)  and later DeKalb School of the Arts (D.SA.). At D.E.S.A, I discovered my passion for music and other arts. That passion for the arts was nurtured throughout my time in elementary, middle and high school. At D.S.A, I majored in Vocal Music and minored in Art. During my time at D.SA. I was a part of two show choirs, Pro’Arte and HighLeit. I was a member of  Pro’Arte, an all women show choir, for one year and a member of  HighLeit- a mixed show choir- for two years. Both of these experiences help me to grow as a musician and performer.  Consequently, at Agnes Scott College, I plan to minor in music. Most of my free time is spent with my nose in a book. I also enjoy playing my guitar and crocheting.
